"Epistles from the IRD" - including archives of their decidedly un-Christian, extremist positions

The following links are to the writings of Mark Tooley (and a few others -- see below for an explanation) as originally found on the "Unofficial Confessing Movement" site. (Note: the UCM site has disappeared and the domain now forwards to an online poker website. Because these writings have apparently disappeared down the memory hole, archived copies are presented in their place.)

Most of the links above are to things written by Mark Tooley, who left a position at the CIA to work for the Institute on Religion and Democracy. He started there as the primary staff person for the United Methodist (UMAction) wing of their organization, and is now the president of the IRD. He and his staff apparently keep themselves busy attending many meetings of United Methodist committees and boards, checking to see if anything is said or done that doesn't agree with the ultra right-wing worldview of the people behind the IRD. I've met some of those people, and they're simply not very loving or kind individuals, nor do they exemplify the teachings of Jesus Christ. Other writings similar to these pontifications can be found at the IRD website, but there seems to be a gap in what's available online -- it appears that some of the writings were too harsh and could perhaps be used to expose their true agenda.
